Benefits that match payroll
The biggest piece of work in October was bringing benefits and Mintage Payroll into line. Benefit providers are now insurers with their plans. Health and life plans come down from Payroll and their payroll fields are locked in Workforce, while enrolments made in Workforce feed Payroll's deductions. Premiums are split the same way Payroll splits them, contributions come from the plan, and any override needs a reason and is recorded. Activating a new enrolment ends the old plan of the same type, pay frequency comes down from Payroll, and plans can be retired or deleted if never used. National insurance is now treated as the statutory deduction it is, not a benefit plan.
Each profile also shows whether Payroll accepted or rejected the employee's latest changes, who rejected them, and which fields Payroll needs before it will accept a record.
Reviews, probation and leave
Performance reviews gained rating scales, competency weights and weighted scores, second-level sign-off that department heads can give in Connect, a preview of who a cycle will include, and a way to cancel a single review with a reason. Probation policies, from 1 to 24 months, now apply by department or designation, with configurable reminders and bulk confirmation of overdue cases.
Leave gained hour-based types such as Personal Time and a policy setup wizard. Advance notice and maximum days per request are enforced, managers can override with an audited reason, and nobody can approve their own leave. TimeKeeper now receives approved leave and balances.
Attendance and everyday polish
Attendance reports now list absences, late arrivals and early departures against each schedule. New employees get Connect logins automatically, and employees can take their own profile photo in Connect or on Pulse. Many screens were fixed for phone widths.
