Team views for managers and spreadsheet import

Managers can now browse their own team and receive their team's leave requests, and HR can import employees from a spreadsheet.

Managers and their teams

Until May, access in Workforce was mostly all or nothing: HR saw everyone, and other staff saw little. This month staff user accounts were linked to their own employee profiles, which made a new kind of access possible. A manager can now be given a view of their managed team, browse those employees in the directory, and receive the email when one of them submits a leave request. It is the first step toward managers handling their own team's day-to-day HR without seeing the whole company.

Getting data in

HR can now import employees from an Excel file during migration. The import accepts columns in any order and, when it skips a row, says exactly why, so problems can be fixed at the source rather than guessed at.

The link with Mintage Payroll also got sturdier. An employee moved from one payroll to another is now cleanly removed from the first, employees deleted in Workforce are restored if Payroll sends them again, and a full re-sync of all employees can be run and copes with Payroll's limits on how fast changes arrive.

Pulse and privacy

Failed face verifications are now saved so HR can review them. Face enrolments that are too small to be reliable are rejected at upload, and a bug that wrongly rejected some kiosk enrolments was fixed. We also made a round of security fixes, made sure salary history follows compensation confidentiality rules, and started preparing the interface and server messages for translation.
