Clocking in by face
The biggest new capability in March was attendance by face recognition. HR can set up a clock-in device by scanning a QR code, approve it with a short-lived admin code, and enrol each employee's face. When someone clocks in, their face is checked against the enrolment; at a shared kiosk, Workforce identifies who is standing in front of the camera and requires several checks to agree before accepting a match. Employees can also clock in through Connect.
Every clock event, including breaks, lands on a new Attendance tab with a calendar, shown in local time. In April this face clock was given its own name: Mintage Pulse.
Training, knowledge and reports
A training module arrived with courses, assignments, department compliance, bulk assignment, expiry reminders and certificates. A knowledge base lets HR publish policies that employees read and acknowledge in Connect, with AI-generated assessments, including short-answer grading, to check understanding. A new Reports section covers areas such as headcount, attendance and training compliance, all exportable to Excel and PDF.
Cleaner records
Documents moved into a Document Library with folders and a virtual folder per employee. AI scanning now recognises what an uploaded document is, straightens sideways PDF pages and pulls education and certification records into the profile. A data completeness indicator shows what each record is missing, and duplicate employees are detected and blocked.
Leave got a calculator, entitlements that grow with years of service, monthly proration, carry-over options and nightly entitlement generation. Profiles gained photos, work history and responsibilities, and admins can now hide menu items their organisation does not use.
