Employee records that match payroll
On 7 February the starter app was renamed Workforce and given the same roles and permissions model as our other products. The first real feature was bringing employees across from Mintage Payroll. From there the link runs both ways: when HR changes an employee in Workforce, the change is sent to Payroll and waits in a review area until a payroll manager accepts it. Employment status stays in step, and each profile's Job & Pay tab shows salary history, payslips and a breakdown of tax, national insurance and net pay drawn from Payroll.
The employee profile itself was redesigned with tabs, inline editing and a five-step wizard for new hires, plus emergency contacts, managers and direct reports, departments and an organisation chart that exports to PDF.
The HR modules
Most of the month's 350 commits built out the HR work around those records. The leave tracker arrived with a team calendar, half-day requests, per-employee and per-designation policies, and a default policy based on Guyana labour law. Onboarding and offboarding run from templates, with a dedicated termination flow. A recruitment pipeline hands a hired candidate straight into a new employee record and starts their onboarding. Benefits plans and enrolment, taxable and non-taxable allowances, appraisals and probation tracking all landed too.
Documents can be uploaded by type, viewed in the app and are encrypted at rest. A letter framework, with a rich text editor, company letterhead and named signatories, produces offer and confirmation letters. Audit history records who changed what, and individual employees can be marked confidential.
AI and self-service
Workforce gained an AI HR assistant that can answer questions about leave, contacts, onboarding and recruitment. AI also checks identity documents against the profile and locks verified fields, such as the tax number, against casual edits. HR can invite employees to Connect from their profile, and Connect can show their leave and documents. Late in the month the app was split into a separate back end and web app, which set it up for everything that followed.
