From setup to payslips
May was our busiest month of the year, with 394 commits, and it is the month the new app learned to run a complete pay cycle. Weekly and fortnightly payrolls joined monthly. Payroll can now be closed for the period, payslips can be downloaded, and payslips can be sent to employees straight from the app. GRA Form 7B can be downloaded too.
Adding a new team member moved into a step-by-step wizard. Payment preferences, also new this month, support bank or cash, with checks so that only one cash line is allowed, and the bank identification number is captured with the account.
Working together, safely
Payroll is often a team effort, so we added live updates: when one person changes a figure, others looking at the same payroll see it without refreshing. A small indicator in the top bar shows the connection is active.
We also added guard rails. Past payrolls are locked from editing, removing or restoring employees, deleted employees go to a recycle bin first, and the payroll table now marks overridden NIS and PAYE values and flags employees under 16 or aged 60 and over for NIS.
Loans and more
A new loans table shows payment history, with separate pages per pay frequency, and advance deductions are treated as loans. Salary tiers, a PAYE merger tool, a signature sheet report, and life, health and pension plan dialogs rounded out the month.
