A leave tracker with balances and history

Mintage Connect gained a full leave tracker, showing balances, a request form and history, and document types now come from Workforce with verification status shown.

Leave, in one place

The simple time off request page from the first build has grown into a leave tracker. Employees now see their balances as cards in a two-column grid, one per leave type, and tapping a card opens a request already set to that type. A request form, a history of past requests and a detail screen for each one complete the picture.

This means an employee can answer the usual questions on their own: how many days do I have left, did my last request go through, and what did my supervisor say about it.

Documents that match the employer's setup

Until now the list of document types was built into the app. It now comes from Workforce, so each employer's own list appears when an employee uploads a file. Some document types can be checked automatically, and the upload list marks those. Once uploaded, a document shows two separate statuses: whether HR has approved it, and whether the automatic check has verified it.

We also fixed several problems with document thumbnails, reworked the status labels so the two statuses are easy to tell apart, and changed the wording of a few labels.

Connecting to the right system

Most of this month's commits landed in a two-day push at the end of February. Alongside the leave work, we changed how the app chooses where to fetch data from, so that when a company uses Workforce for HR, Connect goes there first. A fresh iOS build closed out the month.
