Loans in the employee's pocket
The main addition this month was a Loans section. An employee with a staff loan through Mintage Payroll can see each loan, the repayments made against it, and a receipt for each payment. Before this, the only way to check a balance was to ask the payroll office.
Not every employer offers loans or uses time off through the app, so the home screen now shows or hides these items depending on what each company has switched on. An employee only sees what applies to them.
Sharing and documents
Payslips can now be shared directly from the app, for example when an employee needs to send one to a bank or landlord. The Form 7B screen shows more of the certificate's information before it is opened.
The document upload flow became stricter in useful ways: it checks file size before sending, and it will not let someone replace a document that has already been approved. Documents without a preview now get a cleaner fallback thumbnail.
Steadier day to day
We fixed PDF rendering on iOS, made the pay breakdown chart work on tablets, and kept employees signed in for longer so they are not asked to log in as often. The app also stops refreshing its session while it sits in the background, waits a little longer on slow connections, and keeps the sign-in button visible on small screens without scrolling. A few design touches and the removal of an unneeded package rounded out the month.
