Year-end forms for every pay frequency

Getting ready for year end

With December approaching, November was spent making sure every payroll could produce its year-end paperwork, whatever its pay frequency. The headline change is a merged GRA Form 7B: instead of downloading one PDF per employee, you can now get every employee's form in a single file, ready to print or share.

Fortnightly payrolls gained GRA Form 7B under the 2024 rules, and GRA Form 2A, the employer's annual return, in both online and offline versions. We fixed how months employed are counted on Form 2A, which matters for staff who joined or left during the year. Bi-monthly payrolls, added in September, gained their own export and Form 7B. The year-to-date payslip template was updated too.

Smaller improvements

Employee profiles can now show a picture, and the employee details tab was renamed to Basic Info. Names and addresses are now capitalised consistently. We fixed colours in the dim and dark themes, enabled more reports, and added the bi-monthly frequency to the salary calculator. Fortnightly exports and employee imports were also updated, and payroll exports gained some spreadsheet sheets that had been missing.

A focused month

This was a quieter month, but the work was well targeted. Year-end forms are something every employer has to get right, and problems with them are much easier to fix in November than in January.
