Sign once, print everywhere
Every GRA Form 7B needs an employer's signature. For a company with many employees, signing each form by hand takes real time. In December we added an Employer Signature tab to company settings, with a signature pad where an authorised person can sign once. The signature is stored as an image so it prints the same way on every form, and is then printed on GRA Form 7B for monthly, bi-monthly, fortnightly and weekly payrolls.
The Form 7B PDF also gained QR codes, and we tidied up its font sizes and layout. Together with the merged Form 7B from November, year-end forms can now be produced, signed and printed in one pass.
Rounding out the year
The bank payment files added in October now work for every pay frequency, not just monthly. Bi-monthly payrolls gained GRA Form 2A and 7B spreadsheets. The salary calculator now supports daily and yearly figures, and the usage chart shows how many WhatsApp payslips were sent, delivered, read or failed. Personal email addresses are now checked when employees are added, and employee records now carry a computed age.
Cleaning up
We also spent time on the code itself: documenting key functions in the payroll module, simplifying how the next and previous pay periods are found, removing unused features and adding new tests. December closed the year with 254 commits across the two codebases.
