Self-service on the web
The main work in July was a self-service portal for employees on the web, built to match what Connect already offers. Employees can see their payslip history and tax forms, their schedule, goals, onboarding, benefits, letters and the company directory. When they ask to change something on their profile, the request goes to HR for review and is recorded. Employees can upload their own profile photo, sign in with their phone number by default, and self-service settings are now kept in step with Mintage Payroll.
Reviews, letters and records
Performance reviews were reworked several times over the month. Reviews now have explicit assignments, stages that must be completed in order, protected peer reviews and confidentiality rules that apply on every screen and export. Managers see only what they need.
Letters were overhauled from end to end: letterhead logo placement, a PDF preview, placeholder values that must be filled, private signature images for signatories, template categories, and published letters filed automatically in the Document Library. HR can now record employee dependents, training compliance records were tightened, and the AI assistant can search a library of labour law. Admins got shared to-dos with email reminders, and the dashboard shows expiring documents and headcount by department and gender.
More ways to clock in
Workforce can now store fingerprint templates centrally so they can be shared between fingerprint terminals, and accept punches from those terminals in batches, tracked as their own source. A link to a third-party cloud time clock was added too, with tools to match unrecognised employees, run a sync by hand and see past runs. Viewing salary data now strictly requires its own permission, even for administrators.
