Loan adjustments and write-offs

Employee loans can now be adjusted or written off, with every change shown in the payment history. Pay period lists are also easier to read.

Loans that match real life

Employee loans rarely run exactly to plan. In July we added a loan adjustment dialog that lets payroll staff correct a balance or write a loan off. A write-off shows a clear warning that it cannot be undone, and the amount field is hidden because the whole balance is cleared. Every adjustment now appears in the loan payment history next to regular repayments, with a notes column that explains what happened.

On the backend, we added a command that finds loans whose records have become inconsistent, and a fix for loan adjustment types. The default interest rate for new loans is now zero, so interest only applies when someone sets it.

Easier to find the right period

A weekly payroll has a period for every week of the year, and the list was hard to scan. Pay period dropdowns now group weekly, fortnightly and bimonthly periods by month, with a calendar icon on each group. The same grouping applies when exporting reports and assigning employees to a payroll.

The salary calculators gained PAYE figures for 2021 and 2022, so older periods can be checked. NIS in the bimonthly, fortnightly, weekly and daily calculators now includes overtime. We also added new payslip templates and a report, cleaned up old input tracker data with a new command, and made it possible to remove custom fields. There were 133 commits this month.
