Filing files
Employers in Guyana file PAYE with GRA and contributions with NIS, and each has its own file layouts. In October we added a PAYE offline file export, for fortnightly payrolls as well as monthly, and an NIS offline form report. NIS numbers are now cleaned up automatically, converted to upper case with spaces and dashes removed, and there is an option for whether middle names appear on the NIS form. We also fixed the GRA Form 2A export, and PAYE CSV files now handle addresses that run over several lines.
Journals and background exports
The Payroll Journal from September came to weekly and fortnightly payrolls, and we added a year-to-date journal for monthly and fortnightly pay, so accountants can see the year so far in one workbook.
Some reports take a while on a large payroll. This month we started moving exports, beginning with PAYE, into background jobs that report their progress as they run, so nobody is left staring at a frozen page. That work grew into a full rebuild in November.
Imports and loans
Excel imports now run in a queue too, and can assign employees to a payroll as part of the import. Loans can carry comments, an employee can have more than one loan, and there is a new deduction for withholding tax. Overtime columns were added to the master payroll sheets. October had 185 commits.
