Employee profiles grow beyond payroll

June turned the employee record into a fuller profile: managers and direct reports, notes, emergency contacts, photos, birthdays and work anniversaries.

More than a pay record

Until now an employee in Mintage was mostly the information needed to pay them. In June we started building out a fuller profile. Each employee can now have a manager and direct reports, and their department, location and email addresses can be changed directly. We added notes, emergency contacts and profile photos, and checks so that employee numbers stay unique when basic details are edited.

We also added endpoints for upcoming birthdays and work anniversaries, the small touches that make an HR screen useful day to day. These were the first steps toward the HR features that grew over the following months.

Payroll still came first

The payroll engine kept moving too. New formulas cover an allowance for overtime at time and a half, an allowance by hours times a rate, and a full refund of NIS and PAYE where that applies. Taxable income now takes employee insurance contributions into account. Payslips can show hours and days worked, and payroll can export a timesheet.

One client with a weekly payroll needed its own report layouts for hours, NIS and signatures, and a good share of the month went into those.

Safer releases

We added a command to repair year-to-date records if they ever drift, and automated more of the release process, including payroll rebuilds and regular backups. June was one of the busiest months of the year, with 191 commits.
